IMPACT100 DC
PRIVACY POLICY
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is to ensure Impact100 DC’s (“ImpactDC”) commitment to the privacy of our members, the nonprofit organizations with whom we interact, and website users. This policy explains what type of information is collected by ImpactDC and how this information is used.
GENERAL:
ImpactDC knows that you care about how your personal information is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. We hold personal information in strict confidence and use personal information only for its intended purpose. ImpactDC does not provide, sell, or rent names, e-mail addresses or other personal information to anyone outside the
organization. ImpactDC members are not permitted to disclose confidential information acquired in connection with work done on behalf of ImpactDC.
What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected
ImpactDC members and individuals who register for ImpactDC emails and events voluntarily provide us with personal information. ImpactDC may collect information (such as name, physical address, telephone number, email address and account information) and other personal information (such as age and profession). This information is used only for specific, limited purposes. They may always “opt out” at any time by unsubscribing, if they do not wish to receive communications from us.
ImpactDC may also collect information from a user’s browser, including IP address. ImpactDC’s website may use “cookies” to remember certain user information to help provide better services. Cookies are electronic identifiers that are transferred automatically to a user’s computer through their browser that allow our computers to save certain information provided to ImpactDC. Cookies also track a user’s usage of ImpactDC’s website so we know which parts of the website are most popular. Users can reject cookies or cancel them by instructing their web browser accordingly.
How Information May Be Used
ImpactDC will use personal information to provide personalized service such as: sending emails; answering requests; processing membership applications and fees; contacting members regarding ImpactDC events and opportunities; and customizing the content on the ImpactDC website and email communications. ImpactDC also uses IP addresses to help diagnose problems with ImpactDC’s server, to administer our website, and for statistical metrics used to track
website visitor traffic. This allows ImpactDC to monitor which communication features are the most popular so we can better serve our users’ needs. It also lets us provide aggregate data about our traffic (not identifying individuals personally, but showing how many visitors used which features, for example). Users may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us.
Use of Third Party Service Providers.
We employ service providers to perform tasks on our behalf and to assist us in providing the website and related services, such as data analysis, payment processing, information technology and related infrastructure provision, email delivery, and other services. Those third party service providers are restricted to using your Personally Identifiable Information exclusively on behalf of ImpactDC and only to the extent necessary to provide specifically enumerated services to ImpactDC. For example, to the extent any donations are processed by a third party provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.
External Links.
This website may contain links to external websites. Please be aware that ImpactDC does not claim any responsibility for the privacy practices of these third party websites. Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.
Review of Policy.
This Policy will be reviewed every other year, at minimum, by the Board of Directors or its designated committee, or sooner if warranted by internal or external events or changes. ImpactDC may amend this privacy policy from time to time; please review it periodically. We maintain the option to modify this policy at any time by electronic notice posted on the ImpactDC website. Your continued use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
